The DeWalt 20V MAX XR Lithium Ion Brushless 1/4″ Impact Driver DCF886B   is built with new brushless motor technology. Brushless motor technology reduces the amount of heat and friction it takes to run the power tool’s motor, while also delivering far more power thanks to it’s ability to add more torque per pound, all while making it far more durable. The brushless motor also lends itself to a compact frame, ultimately offering a smaller tool with much more power. As such, with the DEWALT DCF886B’s brushless motor, which actually delivers up to 57% more run time over the standard brushed motor version, bigger is not always better.

Compact Design

The DeWalt 20 volt MAX XR offers a 2.1 pound truly compact 5.55″ front to back design, which is made to specifically fit into the tightest of areas. And all of this is done, without compromising power for size, as this small impact driver easily services your jobs with 1,500 inches per pound of much needed high torque power. The 3200 impacts per minute, coupled with one handed loading of the 1/4″ hex chuck, make navigating in and out of tiny service boxes that plumber’s and electrician’s face on a daily basis, not only quite manageable, but also somewhat enjoyable. In addition, the three built in LED lights continue the engineer’s emphasis of supporting the operator in dark or low visibility areas, specifically by provisioning a clear, visible stream, of LED lights that includes an auto shutoff, with a 20 second trigger release delay, which at the end of the day makes the shadows a little less shady and the application time a little less daunting.
