Milwaukee changed hands in 1985  when it became a subsidiary of Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. Milwaukee joined a large global retailer with TTI and is now apart of a family that includes AEG power tools, DreBo carbide drill bits, Homelite, Ryobi outdoor power equipment, Royal, Dirt Devil, Regina, and Vax floor care appliances. Milwaukee gained a marketing and distribution network  that expanded its portfolio worldwide. Milwaukee is headquartered in Brookfeild Wisconsin, has 18 branches across the States and has production facilities that operate in Greenwood, Jackson and Olive Branch, Mississippi, as well as distributors in Memphis, Tennessee, and Hoeselt Belgium.

One of Milwaukee’s most recent inventions was their innovative Ice Hardened strengthening technology, which uses cryogenic hardening processes, and was released by Milwaukee for use with their power tools line. the Ice Hardened technology improves on the traditional heat-treated process to keep you power tool stronger. Milwaukee has recently introduced their V28 lithium-ion cordless tool system, it is the first lithium-ion battery to incorporate battery technology into cordless battery tools. The V28 boasts production of twice the run time and 50% more power than an 18 volt NiCd battery, while still coming in lighter than the its less powerful predecessors.

“Sales for the year grew 8.4% over 2010 to a record $3.7 billion. Gross profit margin increased to 32.6%, from 32.2% in 2010 and 31.3% in 2009 on productivity gains in operations and supply chain. These improvements drove 2011 earnings before interest and tax up by 30.6% to $218 million, with margin improving by 100 basis points to 5.9%”
